AFRICAN HUNTING DOGS (PAINTED WOLVES) - ZSL LONDON - Husbandry Training, and Environmental Enrichment - featuring Homing Signals and Aussie Dog Home Alone Environmental Play Toys from Aussiedog.com Australia
Four African Hunting Dogs at London Zoo have just started to learn how to accept veterinary and routine husbandry procedures. Head Keeper Brian Harman is learning how to use Homing Signals to teach the dogs to stand quietly when being handled, and to move to specific locations when asked.

This project aims to reduce the stress that these animals experience whenever they need to be contained separately,  or receive veterinary care or worming.  By teaching them how to learn, we hope to improve their means of interacting with their environment, and mentally stimulate them to reduce the impact of confinement. Brian Harman,  is keen to develop the potential of these animals to cooperate with the Keepers.

DOMESTIC ANIMAL TRAINING

Nina offers seminars in training various species of domestic animals - from cows, sheep, goats and horses, to pigs and chickens.  These courses enable trainers to develop their skills in reading the signals that animals use to communicate, and also improve their timing, responses and range of reinforcement.
